also...those Fabreez commercials kinda gross me out
One thing that has been really new is that I've been making cakes. I took a cake decorating class and for a month i was making a cake every weekend it was fun but a little expensive to do every week. just a week or so ago someone asked me to make a cake for their wifes birthday! I was so suprised by the request. and i went a little over board on trying something new. I should have just done something i was familiar with . but it turned out good. I know that it tasted good b/c of the leftovers that I had to cut away.
Next biggest thing for me is that my anniversary is less than 120 days away. I know that still sounds far off but this is a once in a lifetime kind of anniversary it will be 11-11-11!! :) And I've made a deal with Sebi that if we work out and do our best to reach some fitness goals we have that we'll get a reward of going somewhere special for our anniversary. The only thing is that i'm not sure where we might want to go. We have thought about going somewhere cold and enjoying "winter" weather.....but that might just sound good right now b/c it's so hot here :) hehehe We've also thought about going somewhere kinda familiar so that we know where to go and what to do. I don't know it seems like we can deside on any one place. *sigh. but i found a good site to give me some suggestions called WANDERFLY.COM it was a lot of fun and helpful.....at first...b/c then i started putting in all kinds of things to get different ideas and now i feel just as confused as when i started :S. I want to make a desition soon so that we can reserve it but also so that there is even more insentive to keep up with my goals. :S Any suggestions??? Staying in the USA is also the other big requirement Sebi CAN leave the country but his passport...is....not current...if i even knew where it was :S so.....yeah. HAWAII???? i don't know....it might just be the perfect spot but on the other hand would traveling time take up vacation time? won't it always be there? isn't it kinda clique? i don't know.....also would it be "hot"? trust me i've had enough palm trees and dirt and heat to make it sound like heat, sand, and palm trees would not but so fun for me. :P oh well i guess i still have some time
And then a few nights ago we watched Benjamin Button. it was a weird Forest Gump kind of movie. Done in the south. Spands a ridiculous amount of time. he is misunderstood..... and then the whole sexual/sexuality part of it was....REALLY overplayed? juvenile? creepy. Well the whole thing is kinda creepy. Like this wierd strange poem that was too long and should never have really been made into a movie. Oh and I love the part where the Dad thinks the best thing to do after his kid is born is to SNATCH him up and run to the river to throw him in!!! yeah. that'd be the number one thing I hated about it.
Then today I finished the Princess and the Frog. I wanted to like this b/c of the hand drawen animation but it was just. again! creepy! The shadows and the voodu and the accents left me feeling like I was lost in the swamps. Ugh. Come on Disney! really?! so long waiting for a great princess movie like you've done before and...this? it was just....not up to par.
Movies I really did like!
17 Again! Wow! you suprized me! this was a gift from my sister and I thought...hummm lets see. but it was FUN. It wasn't really ever serious. and the whole message of being really in love with someone was nice to see. And ofcourse all the nerd humor was FANTASTIC! and really is what made this whole movie.
RED. Yes! finally some oldies playing...oldies! and nothing is better than Helen Miren! John Malcovigzt (??) is so much fun to see playing a guy that's completely crazy. BECAUSE HE IS! and the action was great but didn't over power everything else. Loved the comedy mixed in making it again a really FUN movie.
so I guess what have I learned from all of this. I'm definately not a Bran-jolina or a AnjoPitt fan. nope. sorry guys.
yesterday we hung the hammock
and i have a retractable clothesline now :) horray! and it's been almost an entire year since we've used a dryer....weird. since it's started to warm up (bleh!!) i think that we still might not hook up the dryer and just continue on with the way we've been doing things. also yesterday i made a whole list of things that needed to be done and i got about 80 percent of the list done. It was good to cross things off and also the best part was that i knew that i had done things and not just forgotten about doing them. Here's hoping that i can finish off that other 20 percent today :) LATER
whoa. i can't even believe that. uhh....i want to post something to end the streak but i really have no idea what to say/write.
lately i've been on this DC comic kick. and then sebi says to me "so have you ever like read a comic book?" and i told him that once i tried to a little but it was kinda wierd or something and i didn't read all of it. then i saw this G4 review and i thought to myself. "humm i wonder if i should give it another go."
so i've been cooking up a whole family reunion thing. and i don't know why i'm going around looking for this fight but i am. I have all these plans that i want to carry out with my family. Like an offical family reunion shirt, having some professional family photos, making a "this is your life" thing for my mom (SHHHH! that is the secret part) going to the temple with everyone, having a theme, doing an awards show stuff like that. Maybe I should set the bar a little lower but i really want it to be fun for all of us and i just see all of this opportunity to really go crazy and have fun.
so i know i'm the worst at this but it was so hilarious i thought i should share it.
Let's eat Grandma! Let's eat, Grandma! Punctuation it saves lives.
Halloween Decor
I really don't like to spend a lot of money on anything I don't have to :) So when I saw this "craft" in a mag i couldn't resist. I bought about 15 plates in the dollar area of Target and then made my faces and punched the holes and then hung it up. TADA! A craft finished in the amount of time it takes the kids to finish a snack (i could have had them do it if they were a little bit older. OR i could have cut out shapes, for eyes and mouths with some black paper or even out of the big black roll of tape that we have but i couldn't wait) I strung mine together with some ribbon i had laying around but it would look even better if i had used GREEN fabric or ribbon to string them together....oh well next year i guess :)
so we went to the fire station last weekend. Oct is fire safety month and they had a really nice little set up for kids and families to come and visit the fire station. We got some fun pictures and had a nice little time there. They also were giving out free ice cream so that was great too. Mosiah was leery of the fireman in his whole get up with the mask and everything and Soliluz was a bit distracted from it all once she got a balloon. But we had a nice time and it's always nice to get out as a family.
this weekend we have planned for a REAL babysitter to come (yes we are paying her and she's a teenager. this is a first!) while my mom me and sebi go out to a comedy show and then on saturday it continues with a trip to the pumpkin patch! I love that the weather is cooling down and that we can finally go outside again. October is set to be a very buzy month :) horray!
oh! this month is going to be SOOO busy! there is the fair (which since all of you have had a great time at i figure i better go and see what PHX has to offer), pumpkin patching, and ofcourse HALLOWEEN. Mosiah has desided firmly on being Superman. Yes folks my son went from Thomas the train to Superheros. Thats the way i roll no mind numming Spongebob dummy stuff for him. and he's started on the good stuff too the OLD superman the one where my mom passing by says "hey that's superman? i think i watched this when i was a kid" :)
Sebi? oh i guess he's pretty set on being Batman so we'll have to see where i'm going to get both of these costumes since they don't really fit into my M.O. of "make a costume in 30 mins or less b/c we are about to walk out the door" as for me and the little gal i don't know yet (here is where my nerd shows) i wanted to do something that kinda goes together b/c mosiah and sebi would both be DC comics but i don't think we'd go all Justisc Legde and be Hawkgirl and WonderWomen....well, maybe we'll see that'd be kinda a stretch to do i think....hummmm....yeah i don't know. anyway! no pics this time just hard core text with which i notice some spelling errors...sorry it's getting late for me i should NOT be awake right now. oh also found some "good" scraps of stuff in the street. the first trash pick up of the month people can throw out thier "big" items so i found some things we'll see if i use it. ofcourse if i do i'll let you know. better go now i can hear my pillow.......zzzzzzzzz oh! sorry nite!
